First of all start with some best wishes that all of
you (my readers) may have sweet morning, night or evening, what so ever
is time zone on your global patch [Definitely you
must pray for me too]. Now let’s come to today’s purpose of meet and it
is topic ‘internet’. Oh what? You are far familiar with internet and
don’t want any further penetration in it? Then there is big NO that i am not
here to talk about some boring classical internet (you are using for
Facebook, Youtube or browsing) but rather this time I would discuss about internet
of things. In other words what is this terminology used for and what other
associated things with it? I will try all this to elaborate in this article.
One more thing, you heard in title that now machines (Smartphones, fridge, CCTV
cameras, Kitchen heaters etc) with other associated machines, it is not a myth
but a future of internet. I would try to make easy things (concepts or FAQs of
IOTs) till the finish of this article.
Internet of Things Definition
These
words may be a random neologism for some guys there but I am pretty sure that
after completing my definition you would be a familiar lover of this internet.
“Internet of things is the global network of computerized things, where everything on this network will intelligently talk and communicate with other things and with humans too”.Like your deep freezer inside your kitchen is saying to you, Milk is over, when you are in office and at the same time fridge is asking to circuit breaker in its respective DB; Hey milk is over and my stomach is empty so cut down the power for energy saving for other nation. Is not it a new electric revolution? I know you are excited about amazing tech just like people in Silicon Valley whom are very much hyper about it. When you ask them they define internet of things such as "a global, immersive, invisible, ambient networked computing environment built through the continued proliferation of smart sensors, cameras, software, databases and massive data centres in a world-spanning information fabric". I hope you have got my point (definition), in the later sections I would try to elaborate further about this neologism.
Alternative names:
Guys i
have started this article with the word “Internet of things” just because of
the fame and excessive use of this word for new born technology (concept).
However there are many other associated names with it too. As i predict in
title that with this technology, now machines ( Freezer, Oven, Lights, Fans,
CCTV, Fire alarm, Cars, Smartphones etc) will talk and communicate with other
machines intelligently and indirectly with human beings, so on this behalf it
is also witnessed as M2M (Machine to Machine). Now if I make it more flexible
in its short form then people are now calling it IoT (Internet of Things) in
common. Similar to these kennings, you may call it with your own love thought
(name), as one of mine friends Nirma is calling it T2T (Things to Things). As
she says T2T is more comprehensive title for this dying heart tech.
Engineering behind IoT:
Well
guys, I think now we should move ahead from synopsis world of M2M and talk
about technology something technically. Basically IoT is quite a bit different
from ordinary Internet where people just share and communicate intangibly and
up to 90% there is only involve Computer sciences and IT engineering. But on
the other hand in this internet, there are many disciplines of technology and
internet are involved like electrical, mechanical, electronics,
instrumentation, mechatronics, computer, IT engineering and other associates;
as Sensors, electric energy, gadgets, RF, communication, security devices are
accessories of T2T internet.
Brief revolutions of New Technology:
Let’s
start our elaboration about charm of IoT with some examples so you get it
comprehensively. With this internet of things, you are always well connected
with the circumstances of your home, even though you are away from land. How?
There will be some CCTV cameras installed across the building (continuously
monitoring), cameras will text your smartphone that there is cat or dog
contaminating your sofa or bed, through connection with your smartphone. If we
move further ahead in technology, then same CCTV camera will be connected
(through WIFI or bluetooth) with some horrible buzzer or horn installed at
home, camera will tell to buzzer ‘start on’ to horrify cat or dog to leave
apartment.
Let’s
talk about a recent patent filed by jawbone in which he introduced a

track fitness or fat level in some human being. That’s mean some device will monitor your fat level and tell you as well as other associated things to do something to improve your fitness level. In this regard, there is a wrist band type device connected with your smartphone, phone send some vibrations to device and it wobble your body and generate a specific frequency to determine fat level. Science is so simple that different guys (with different fat level) produce different frequency. As a resultant your smartphone tells your fat level in terms of percentage and you may predict some more efficient fitness regime. If I further simplify it for you then driverless car by Google and Google glasses are very efficient examples of IoT.

I know that although there are some
security risks always linked up with internet of things, however driverless Car
type IoT devices could be very much beneficiary moves in tech. Imagine that
almost there is every car in the world linked with each other just like
Google’s one, then in rush hours at some ‘A’ place in city any car named ‘X’ is
telling to another car ‘Y’ at place ‘B’ that ‘don’t adopt straight path to reach
at ‘A’ place rather use some other alternate or you may slow down yourself to
avoid from irritation of standing jangly in sucked traffic’. I guess it is
superb that people are sitting in car and doing their important tasks and cars
are automatically communicating each other to make a smooth flow of traffic in
city so people may land in offices on time. Meanwhile, you people are
monitoring your fridge, temperature level at home, fitness level, lighting
control and many more through M2M.
Financial Future of Internet of Things:
Let’s
take start on future of IoT withis statement of an analysis “estimates suggest
that by 2020 there will be in the region of 50bn IoT devices – all talking with
one another on a constant basis”. This was actually technical as well as
statistical future of this amazing idea, but what is about financial scope in
Internet of Things? I guest from vastness in idea of M2M and involvement of
every gadget and human being in iOT, you can easily judge future business
expected from this (It’s bulky).
Do you think I’m joking? Think again. I
tell you, this thing is Big. Why, only the other day, an outfit called IDC said(in report) that the IoT
is going to generate a staggering $7.1tn in sales by 2020. You are considering
it a misprint? But I really meant trillions.
Well
guys, I swear I have tried to explain and introduce M2M to you guys in as easy
way as it is possible. I don’t what you have made in your mind? Good or bad
about internet of things? What so ever it is, I would appreciate, share
